Getting up at 4 am and hiking a couple miles in the dark does have its advantages... Mornings like this are what hunting is about to me. It's 22 degrees on the mtn, frost sparkling on the leaves. Been sitting here in the dark for 30 minutes with no sound except a deer feeding on acorns on the other side of the hill. As the eastern sky begins to glow a pale orange the woods are starting to come to life. Birds are making a racket in the trees and a squirrel is out looking for his breakfast.
That big ol sun ball popping over the mountain is always a welcome sight on a cold frosty morning. Always a good sign when making the trek to your hunting spot Back in the stand.
