Congratulations to OMS Coach Heath Sexton and his team for winning a second consecutive East Tennessee state championship. (Also congratulations to Huntsville for making it as far as they did.) "Nothin' like the sound when the day breaks, me and my boy in the woods on a Saturday." (Tracy Byrd, Pass It On) White Knuckle is coming...
Tennessee's Cam Tatum at Coach Bill Duncan's Future Highlanders basketball camp this morning. Tatum instructed the kids on a number of techniques and spoke about the importance of being a team player and education. Oneida Mayor Jack E. Lay poses with Justin Losey and his prize-winning catfish at the annual Free Fishing Day Contest Saturday at Oneida City Park. Just 10 weeks! 69 days and a wakeup!
The weekend before deer season opens and hunters across Scott County are sighting in their muzzleloaders. It looks like ol' Greasey is finally good for something. The babysitter was out of town Saturday so Toby & Rachel got to go to their first UT game. Ten rows off the floor behind the UT bench but they couldn't have cared less about who the sweaty guy was pacing back and forth in front of the bench or who the football coach was sitting behind the bench. They were more interested in the cheerleaders and the guys behind them who kept them supplied with ice cream and popcorn. The sunset from my front yard.
If the view from the highway is any indication, Corey Sexton's back porch must be one of the best places in Oneida, Tennessee to see a sunset. If the view from the highway is any indication, Corey's back porch must be one of the best places in Oneida, Tennessee to see the sun set. Um...is it 4:30 or 8:30? Day has turned to night in Scott County.
Rachel met me on the sidewalk after work yesterday. She was not happy with her brother. "Toby said I look like a silly clown," she said. She was getting ready for her company that was coming. "It took me a long time to get dressed," she said. I've caught a lot of critters on a rod-n-reel over the years but Saturday was the first time I ever caught a duck. Do I need a license for that?!?
